Oliver Meech combines magic with other interesting things to create work that is “fascinating and different to other magicians” (GWJWTBE blog).
His one-man magic shows have sold out month-long runs at the Edinburgh Fringe in both 2013 and 2014, as well as sell-out performances in London, Brighton Fringe, Buxton Fringe, Green Man Festival and Manchester Comedy Festival.
Reviews include: “my jaw hit the floor” (BBC), “could rival Derren Brown” (Theatre-Wales) and “real gasps of awe” (Broadway Baby).
Oliver’s shows have toured across England and Wales, to both rural venues and urban theatres. He has performed at The Barbican, London 2012 Olympics, and Wales Millennium Centre. He has also filmed with the team behind E4’s Troy.
As Magic Consultant, he has worked on the Discovery Channel’s Breaking Magic, seen by over 100 million people worldwide, and the National Theatre Wales’ Y Storm, part of the 2012 World Shakespeare Festival, nominated for Best Production by Theatre Critics of Wales. Oliver has collaborated with artists including actress Rula Lenska and Booker-nominated author Sarah Waters.
Off-stage, I am the author of three critically-acclaimed magic books for magicians, distributed worldwide, and was one of the youngest people to lecture at The Magic Circle, the world’s most prestigious magic society.
